Ruth's Journey Fellowship for conversion candidates, recent converts and interfaith spouses.

Inaugural year!

The Ruth’s Journey Fellowship is a new opportunity for conversion candidates, recent converts, and interfaith spouses of Jews to participate in Summer Institute as both learners and contributors. Designed for those who did not grow up Jewish but, whatever their age, are choosing to be involved in Jewish communal life, the fellowship creates space to study, connect as a cohort, and engage deeply with the broader, pluralistic Institute community. Fellows will meet together as a cohort in sessions shaped by the questions, experiences, and interests they bring and will work with the fellowship coordinator to plug into workshops, prayer services, song circles, and leadership opportunities that support their growth. As this is the first year of the program, financial support is not guaranteed, but the coordinator will partner with fellows to seek funding and make participation as accessible as possible.

Zeitler Fellowship for young adults ages 22 -32.

Attend Summer Institute for just $60

Fellows participate in the full Summer Institute programming, and in four workshops designed specifically for them. The Fellowship provides a supportive cohort from which to experience all that Institute has to offer and  includes opportunities for Fellows to reflect on building, sustaining, and participating in their Jewish communities outside of the NHC. In addition, each Zeitler Fellow will be paired with a mentor, a returning Institute participant who shares similar interests and can support the Fellow in getting the most out of the Institute.

Zeitler Fellows pay only NHC dues of $60. The fellowship covers tuition, room, and board for the NHC Summer Institute. To apply for the Zeitler Fellowship, you must be between the ages of 22 and 32, interested in exploring lay-led, participatory, independent Jewish community, and willing to participate fully in the Summer Institute. Jews of Color and Jews with disabilities are especially encouraged to apply. Preference is given to first-time Institute attendees.
