 NHC Discussion Lists

The NHC sponsors  nhc-havurah and nhc-discuss, two electronic forums for discussing issues and sharing information related to programs, activities, and concerns of NHC members and interested friends.

These lists replace mail-havurah, which, from 1994-2005, served as the NHC's online forum to continue the conversations begin at the NHC Institutes.

Since then, our community has become larger and more connected to/by the Internet, and mail-havurah has come to serve several distinct functions:

NHC announcements, discussion of havurah and community issues, and general discussions. In order to ensure that each of these functions can thrive, the NHC has retired mail-havurah in January, 2005, replacing it with these  lists, each with its own mission, as described below.

This structure is not intended to make any statement about which topics are more important than others; it is intended only to facilitate our electronic communication. Please read the list descriptions carefully so that we can all make the best use of the new lists.

mail-havurah will be archived indefinitely at Shamash, The Jewish Network.

In January 2012, these lists moved to nhc-havurah@havurah.org and nhc-discuss@havurah.org .

For 17 years, the NHC's Internet Discussion Lists, nhc-havurah and nhc-discuss (and their predecessor, MAIL-HAVURAH) have been hosted on Shamash: The Jewish Network. On December 31, 2011 Shamash discontinued its listserv service, and therefore we are moving nhc-havurah and nhc-discuss to a new home.

nhc-havurah@havurah.org is an online forum for discussing NHC activities, havurot, and sharing short announcements of havurah-related events not sponsored by the NHC.

nhc-discuss@havurah.org is an unmoderated list for open discussions on topics of interest to the NHC community.

Anyone interested in participating in our on-line community or in learning more about NHC programs is invited to subscribe to any of these lists by visiting http://lists.havurah.org/listinfo.cgi
