Kids Camp

Camp offers special opportunities for recreation, friendship and growth for everyone. Kids Camp is built around a daily schedule that includes a balance of sports, Judaics, music, dancing, swimming, arts and crafts, storytelling, games, quiet time and even more. Of course, we are always concerned about the safety and happiness of each child. To this end, we ask that you carefully read and do the following:

Please print out and complete the Children's Information and Consent/Insurance Forms for each child coming with you to the Institute and return them to the NHC office via fax or postal mail by July 10. The forms can be downloaded here. These forms are required in order for your child(ren) to participate in Kids Camp.

Please read all of the enclosed information, even if you have attended the Institute before. This guide to daytime camping and evening babysitting contains important and helpful information. We encourage you to bring it with you to the Institute for handy reference.

Registration and Orientation:  Institute registration begins Monday, August 3, at 1:30 pm. The Kids’ Camp director will be at the camp location between 3:00pm and 3:45pm if you have any individual concerns to discuss. Kids Camp orientation this year will be held at the same time as Babysitting orientation on Monday evening at 7:00 pm in Cheshire. This is your opportunity to ask questions and receive additional scheduling and classroom information. All parents should plan to attend the Kids’ Camp orientation, even returning Kids Camp families.

Please volunteer! Your involvement helps ensure the safety and happiness of the children at camp as well as supporting our hard-working staff. We invite you to spend time at camp, either leading an activity – past activities have included morning davening, nature walks, puppet shows, storytelling, singing, art and science projects – or just hanging out and doing what the kids are doing. Or bring your kids to camp and stay for our morning gathering at 9:30 each day...a great 15-minute start to your day! Email me with your ideas for an activity and age group you’d like to lead or any questions or comments about camp.

Parents, you are our partners, please be sure to inform us of anything we should know to make your child's week more secure and enjoyable. We look forward to seeing you on Monday, August 3rd.

L'Hitraot!
